Fun & High Performance
At the end of the day, building robots is supposed to be Fun!
In MARS 2614, we celebrate technical breakthroughs—like a perfectly tuned PID loop, a smooth Shoot-On-The-Move autonomous routine, or a successful MegaTag 2.0 setup—as team-wide victories.
The Thrill of the Swerve
Section titled “The Thrill of the Swerve”There is an undeniable excitement in watching a 120-pound machine strafe across the carpet at 18 feet per second, calculating physics and tracking targets at 250 times a second. We believe that High Performance is Fun.
When students work incredibly hard debugging a challenging piece of code, the euphoria of seeing the BUILD SUCCESSFUL terminal output followed by a flawlessly executed autonomous auto-path is electric.
Celebrating the Wins
Section titled “Celebrating the Wins”- We celebrate when the simulation works perfectly the first time.
- We cheer when a complex geometry transformation algorithm seamlessly calculates target trajectories.
- We embrace the fun of competition by ensuring that our framework’s strict standards actually reduce the stress on the pit crew, leaving more time to enjoy the camaraderie of the event.
Building a world-class robot takes immense effort, but with MARSLib handling the heavy structural lifting, students have more time to focus on the fun parts: tuning, innovating, driving, and celebrating!
